The source code to the original Infocom Z-machine interpreters has been released in 2023!!

The winners of the Interactive Fiction Competition for 2023 have been announced!!

See the Interactive Fiction archive at https://www.ifarchive.org/. These games are of the "Z-machine" specification which are also called Infocom, Inform, and ZCode.

The Parchment JavaScript Z-machine interpreter is from Parchment on GitHub provided by IPlayIf.com.

The old Zplet Java Z-machine interpreter was from Zplet on SourceForge.

Activision's Infocom text adventure collections can be played in these engines, too, including the very oldest Zork games.
